Reflections is an interactive documentary designed for dynamic media billboards in public spaces. The project uses traditional documentary production methods but expands the post-production process to create an engaging, immersive and unique viewing experience. By merging post-production and editorial concepts with the realtime processes of live visuals and VJing, Reflections allows for content to be quickly gathered and performed live into an engaging audio/visual experience ideally suited for viewing audiences in public spaces, displayed on large format urban screens. Footage is performed live rather than edited in the traditional manner, creating a visual tapestry of evolving content and imagery. Reflections represents a new direction in the documentary form that addresses the transitory nature of audiences in the urban environment and the progressively more diverse way that people obtain and interact with content as a fragmentary experience. During the Melbourne Urban Screens Conference, two Reflections projects were produced over a 5 day period Reflections:Water and Reflections:urbanscreens.
